Objective / Brief: Mid-term project for my typography class, where students were assigned in groups as a “client” and as a “designer”. For the client portion of the project, the goal was to create a moodboard for a music festival, acting as a brief. The second portion was where I worked as the designer, following the brief and moodboard of another “client” group. The goal of this project is to collaborate with a client, adhering to the client’s vision. This project mimics real world client-designer interactions.

Creative Solution: Through my meetings with the client group and their provided moodboard, I was able to creatively express their vision. The visual hierarchy flows, and guides the viewer visually through the most prominent elements, (Title - Setlist - Supporting info). My client stressed the importance of a strong vibrant color palette, with the goal of evoking excitement and happiness. This was achieved through my use of complementary yellow and purple, which also ties into the outdoor venue atmosphere. The yellow sphere and festival title both subtly resemble the sun and a smiling face. This clever design choice allows for a magnitude of feelings and information to be conveyed. Alongside these elements, I also used typography to continue to hone in on the electric, positive, and exciting themes.
